How to hide a Hard disk Drive or partition in windows system without using any software :

Its often necessary to hide the Hard Disk Drive rather using password for several folder.Its like a huge private space and best thing is that no one ever know that even it exists. You dont need to be a computer geek to achieve this. Even you need not to remember a password or techie command for that . The process is very simple; With just some mouse click you can hide a disk partition.One thing is recommended that do not install softwares and game files in that partition and do not hide system partitions. simply they will not be usable once you hide that partition. So enough of talking.Here goes the process:

1. Go to RUN under the program menu in windows xp or ALL PROGRAMS –> Accessories –> RUN in windows 7. Or best way to launch the RUN is to press WINKEY + R in your keyboard. If you dont know what the winkey is;then look into in the keyboard for this kind of key

2. Now in the RUN window type diskmgmt.msc and press OK.

3.This will open Disk Management console .Here you can see all the list of Disks you have(Including CD/DVD Devices also).Now suppose we want to hide TEMP(J:) drive from the drives enlisted below.

4.So to hide TEMP(J:) Right Click on that and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths.. from the context menu.

5. This will open a window like below. Now click on the Remove button.Dont panic , this will not remove your Drive permanently but just from the My Computer folder. You are just removing the Drive letter ,Nothing else.

So you are now done with Drive Hiding. Isnt is simple enough ? Now Look in to My Computer,you will not find TEMP(J:) drive and cannot using DOS also as the drive has not any drive letter.

So now the question is how to show the Drive again? I think you already figured it out. If you not then…

1.To unhide the drive again open Disk Management console again from the same above procedure .Here you can see you Hided drive but without the drive letter. In this case Hided TEMP drive is there but with no drive letter.Just select it and right click on it and choose Change Drive letter and paths.. again.

2.This will open following window and click Add button on it .

3. After clicking Add button a popup will come. click on Assign the following Drive letter: .And give the previous or desired drive letter there and click OK.

Now check my computer. Your hidden treasure is right there waiting for you…

How to install fonts without admin right

In Windows, you can’t install new fonts if you don’t have admin rights. Microsoft have made it extremely difficult for normal users to install fonts. As all the Fonts in Windows live peacefully in C:\Windows\Fonts, which is only writeable by Administrators or elevated privilege account owners

So, how can we install fonts without having to ask for Admin rights? Well, thanks to Tsukasa, there’s a workaround. He has developed a tool called Registerfont (You can download here or here or here or here)

What this tool actually does is that add a number of fonts to your font cache which do not need to use an elevated user account. How to use this tool is very simple.

Just download the above file.
Extract it to anywhere you can have access.
Find the Bin folder and copy the font files into it.There you'll also find
registerfont.exe
Go to Command Prompt and locate to
registerfont.exe then type “registerfont add font1.ttf font2.ttf font3.ttf … font1000.ttf”

What if you don’t even have access to command prompt? Well, then, you can create shortcut by right clicking on Registerfont.exe, choose create shortcut. After that right-click on that shortcut and go to Properties.

Then append the string add with the name of the font file you want to add.

Example : “C:\Documents and Settings\usernamexxx\My Documents\RegisterFont.exe” add font1.ttf

Please note that you have to put Registerfont.exe, its shortcuts and all your fonts in the same folder. That’s it! Once you run the shortcut, you can see that the fonts you added are available to all your favourite Windows applications such as MS Office or Web Browsers.

Adding Flash Player into FireFox Portable Without Installing It

Don't have access rights to install Flash Player?

Right now, due to I don't have an administrator privileges on my office computer, I can't install FireFox 3 in it, so I have to use FireFox 3 Portable from PortableApps.
Unfortunately, this FireFox 3 Portable is not bundled with Adobe Flash Player, so I need to install it manually, wich is I can't due to the limited access rights.
To resolved this problem, I try to follow the tips given by Fabio on his blog post, Installing Flash Player Plugin on Firefox without having Administrator Access or Premissions. The idea is the same, the only different is the folder path where we should place the flash files, if in normal FireFox installation the flash extension files should be placed in folder %APPDATA%MozillaPlugins, then for FireFox Portable, all files should be placed in FirefoxPortableAppfirefoxplugins folder.
So, these are the steps that we need to do:

Download Flash Player .xpi version
Rename flashplayer-win.xpi into flashplayer-win.zip and extract it using WinZip or 7Zip etc.
Copy flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll files into folder FirefoxPortableAppfirefoxplugins.
Restart your Firefox portable.

After restarting FireFox Portable, just visit any site with Flash on it, for example Nokia website, to test the installation. If you can see the Flash object, then you've successful, please leave me a comment :)

Yes.... It's a concern for all.... A mail without a subject brings a bad impression on us.

To avoid this just follow the simple steps mentioned below and see the result

Steps:
1. Open your outlook

2. Press Alt+F11. This opens the Visual Basic editor and then Press Ctrl+R which in turn open Project-Project 1 (left side)

3. On the Left Pane, one can see "Microsoft Outlook Objects" or "Project1", expand this. Now one can see the "This Outlook Session".

4. Double click on "ThisOutLookSession". It will open up a code pane on the right hand side.

5. Copy and Paste the following code in the right pane. (Code Pane) and save it

A variety of new keyboard shortcuts have been introduced.Some of them you can find in previous version of windows.Here some useful Global keyboard shortcuts:

* Win+Space operates as a keyboard shortcut for Aero Peek.

* Win+Up and Win+Down are new shortcuts for Maximize and Restore/Minimize.

* Win+Shift+Up vertically maximizes the current window

* Win+Left and Win+Right snap the current window to the left or right half of the current display; successive key presses will move the window to other monitors in a multi-monitor configuration.

Really worth watching.After returning home I checked IMDB for rating and it was just 6.9 and read the reviews which tells it is disappointing.I dont agree.The story as we all know compact and quite fast and the way director handled the storyline is really appreciable.It is right that the role of tom hanks had not much scope to show his extraordinary quality of acting and I think it is justified with the storyline.I have only two issue with the presentation.One, the way the antimatter blast showed the diverstation could have much more otherwise it should be showed such a way that peaple should understand why or how people are survived.No. two the whole conspiracy is showed such a way it looks like only two people,The Camerlengo and the assassin coz the antimatter stealing from cern and the whole conspiracy could not have been possible for just two so the whole conspirator parts somehow neglected.

But I am just a ordinary viewer and as I told you I like the movie very much even my partner also loved it.The way the Vatican City depicted is quitly great experience.The antimatter blast,Large Hudron Collider, The way of solving mistry,Vatican Archieve,Cinamatography,Location everything was as expected from the Ron Howard.So everyone should wattch it.I will give it 7.5 out of 10.I gave 8 in IMDB.Overall a great weakend.I am planning to download it also when axxo will release it.

If you're using a keygen-generated product key or publicly available leaked Office 2007/2003/XP serial number, especially the volume license key (VLK) that requires no activation when used, most of the keys no longer able to pass the OGA genuine validation test anymore with the following error message (Office 2007 as instance):

3. If you never validate your copy of Office, go to Genuine Microsoft Software web page, and run the Office Validation Assistant by using Internet Explorer (not Firefox as it will use different version of ActiveX component). This is to install the components required for Office validation. If you fail the validation - Office not genuine - simply ignore the message.
4. Copy the cracked ogacheckcontrol.dll to the following location:

Windows XP and Windows Vista (64-bit): \Windows\SysWOW64\
5. Attempt to download Office files that require validation agai n. All downloads should work now.

If you're using invalid or blacklisted product key, you may have to change the Office product key:

No, they aren’t animated characters. They are human beings who were made to wear body suits. “The design of the characters is such that one gets fooled into thinking it is animation,” shrugs Rao, which was indeed the very illusion that had to be created. “In a sense, it is ‘live’ animation!” he quips, referring to the fact that it was all shot live.

Prakash Varma, ad filmmaker, Nirvana Films, has directed the commercials, and reveals that the Zoozoos were a big challenge to create. The practical aspects of how they will move, talk, gesticulate and emote were very important. Essentially, costume design and artwork were crucial elements.

“It took me three weeks of pre-production to understand how it will work,” says Varma. There were two fabrics that were considered for the body suits, and one was rejected for it had too many wrinkles and was shiny. The wrinkles would have shown when the characters moved, thereby shattering the illusion of animation. “So we chose the more practical, thicker fabric,” Varma explains.

The production team divided the outfit into two parts: the body and the head. The body part of the outfit was stuffed with foam in some places, while the head was attached separately. To make it look bigger than a human head, a harder material called Perspex was used, which in turn was stuffed with foam (with scope for ventilation).

If one wishes to understand the size of this head, here’s a fact: a human head would typically reach up to the mouth level of this giant Zoozoo head. “We kept the hands and legs thin, which is why we cast women – and occasionally children – wearing the costumes,” says Varma. The thin limbs, contrasted with big bellies and a bulbous head, all add to the illusion that these creatures are ‘smaller’ than humans. Sets were created to suit the size of the Zoozoos.
Cinematically, this ‘size’ was a trick: the creatures look smaller than they actually are on screen, to portray a different world of sorts. For this, the speed of shooting was altered: Nirvana shot it in a high-speed format to make them look the size that they do.
Furthermore, simple sets/backdrops were created and spray painted with neutral Greys – a colour of choice so that attention isn’t diverted from the main characters. For a supposedly ‘outdoor’ shot, even the shadow of a Zoozoo was kept ‘live’ and not done in post production: it was painted in a darker shade of grey on the ground. An even lighting was maintained throughout.
There was virtually no post production work done.
The films were shot by Nirvana in Cape Town, South Africa, with the help of a local production house there, called Platypus. Incidentally, the same combination of people also worked on the ‘Happy to Help’ series last year. When asked whether Cape Town is fast becoming a tourist spot for Vodafone and Nirvana, Varma laughs, saying, “Oh no! It’s just that we are very comfortable with the team there and know what sort of work to expect from them.”
Nagpal adds here that the production cost had to be minimal for unveiling such a large number of commercials. “Otherwise, our production costs would exceed media spends,” he quips.

The ferroelectric materials found in today's "smart cards" used in subway, ATM and fuel cards soon may eliminate the time-consuming booting and rebooting of computer operating systems by providing an "instant-on" capability as well as preventing losses from power outages.

Researchers supported by a National Science Foundation (NSF) nanoscale interdisciplinary research team award and three Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers at Cornell University, Penn State University and Northwestern University recently added ferroelectric capability to material used in common computer transistors, a feat scientists tried to achieve for more than half a century. They reported their findings in the April 17 journal Science.

Ferroelectric materials provide low-power, high-efficiency electronic memory. Smart cards use the technology to instantly reveal and update stored information when waved before a reader. A computer with this capability could instantly provide information and other data to the user.

Researchers led by Cornell University materials scientist Darrell Schlom took strontium titanate, a normally non-ferroelectric variant of the ferroelectric material used in smart cards, and deposited it on silicon--the principal component of most semiconductors and integrated circuits--in such a way that the silicon squeezed it into a ferroelectric state.

"It's great to see fundamental research on ordered layering of materials, or epitaxial growth, under strained conditions pay off in such a practical manner, particularly as it relates to ultra-thin ferroelectrics" said Lynnette Madsen, the NSF program director responsible for the Nanoscale Interdisciplinary Research Team award.

The result could pave the way for a next-generation of memory devices that are lower power, higher speed and more convenient to use. For everyday computer users, it could mean no more waiting for the operating system to come online or to access memory slowly from the hard drive.

"Several hybrid transistors have been proposed specifically with ferroelectrics in mind," said Schlom. "By creating a ferroelectric directly on silicon, we are bringing this possibility closer to realization."

More research is needed to achieve a ferroelectric transistor that would make "instant on" computing a reality, but having the materials in direct contact, free of intervening reaction layers, is an important step.

The paper's first author, Maitri P. Warusawithana, is a postdoctoral associate in Schlom's lab. The research team also includes scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Motorola Corp., Ames Laboratory and Intel Corp.

The biggest internet revolution for a generation will be unveiled this month with the launch of software that will understand questions and give specific, tailored answers in a way that the web has never managed before.

The new system, Wolfram Alpha, showcased at Harvard University in the US last week, takes the first step towards what many consider to be the internet's Holy Grail – a global store of information that understands and responds to ordinary language in the same way a person does.

Although the system is still new, it has already produced massive interest and excitement among technology pundits and internet watchers.

Computer experts believe the new search engine will be an evolutionary leap in the development of the internet. Nova Spivack, an internet and computer expert, said that Wolfram Alpha could prove just as important as Google. "It is really impressive and significant," he wrote. "In fact it may be as important for the web (and the world) as Google, but for a different purpose.

Tom Simpson, of the blog Convergenceofeverything.com, said: "What are the wider implications exactly? A new paradigm for using computers and the web? Probably. Emerging artificial intelligence and a step towards a self-organising internet? Possibly... I think this could be big."

Wolfram Alpha will not only give a straight answer to questions such as "how high is Mount Everest?", but it will also produce a neat page of related information – all properly sourced – such as geographical location and nearby towns, and other mountains, complete with graphs and charts.

The real innovation, however, is in its ability to work things out "on the fly", according to its British inventor, Dr Stephen Wolfram. If you ask it to compare the height of Mount Everest to the length of the Golden Gate Bridge, it will tell you. Or ask what the weather was like in London on the day John F Kennedy was assassinated, it will cross-check and provide the answer. Ask it about D sharp major, it will play the scale. Type in "10 flips for four heads" and it will guess that you need to know the probability of coin-tossing. If you want to know when the next solar eclipse over Chicago is, or the exact current location of the International Space Station, it can work it out.

Dr Wolfram, an award-winning physicist who is based in America, added that the information is "curated", meaning it is assessed first by experts. This means that the weaknesses of sites such as Wikipedia, where doubts are cast on the information because anyone can contribute, are taken out. It is based on his best-selling Mathematica software, a standard tool for scientists, engineers and academics for crunching complex maths.

"I've wanted to make the knowledge we've accumulated in our civilisation computable," he said last week. "I was not sure it was possible. I'm a little surprised it worked out so well."

Dr Wolfram, 49, who was educated at Eton and had completed his PhD in particle physics by the time he was 20, added that the launch of Wolfram Alpha later this month would be just the beginning of the project.

"It will understand what you are talking about," he said. "We are just at the beginning. I think we've got a reasonable start on 90 per cent of the shelves in a typical reference library."

The engine, which will be free to use, works by drawing on the knowledge on the internet, as well as private databases. Dr Wolfram said he expected that about 1,000 people would be needed to keep its databases updated with the latest discoveries and information.

He also added that he would not go down the road of storing information on ordinary people, although he was aware that others might use the technology to do so.

Wolfram Alpha has been designed with professionals and academics in mind, so its grasp of popular culture is, at the moment, comparatively poor. The term "50 Cent" caused "absolute horror" in tests, for example, because it confused a discussion on currency with the American rap artist. For this reason alone it is unlikely to provide an immediate threat to Google, which is working on a similar type of search engine, a version of which it launched last week.

"We have a certain amount of popular culture information," Dr Wolfram said. "In some senses popular culture information is much more shallowly computable, so we can find out who's related to who and how tall people are. I fully expect we will have lots of popular culture information. There are linguistic horrors because if you put in books and music a lot of the names clash with other concepts."

He added that to help with that Wolfram Alpha would be using Wikipedia's popularity index to decide what users were likely to be interested in.

With Google now one of the world's top brands, worth $100bn, Wolfram Alpha has the potential to become one of the biggest names on the planet.

Dr Wolfram, however, did not rule out working with Google in the future, as well as Wikipedia. "We're working to partner with all possible organisations that make sense," he said. "Search, narrative, news are complementary to what we have. Hopefully there will be some great synergies."

Lying on a makeshift iron bed in a hospital in the northern city of Tianjin after an operation on his foot, Zhao seems almost bored with his sudden rise to fame.

The hospital was forced to put together two standard-sized iron beds to accommodate the giant from central Henan province whose parents are of average height, but he still has trouble fitting his large frame onto the narrow mattresses.

His shoulders, hands, legs and feet are all oversized, and he finds it difficult to find clothes and shoes to fit.

Weighing 341 pounds, Zhao squeezes into European size 56 shoes.

He is huge even compared with China's most famous tall man, Yao Ming, the basketball star who plays for the Houston Rockets in the American NBA and stands 2.29 metres tall.

Asked about Zhao's clothes, Wang Keyun, his 1.68-metre-high mother, laughs and unravels a pair of his trousers - they reach up to her face when she stands up.

"For my son, everything is always custom-made, and when he was young I would make his clothes myself," she said.

Zhao has also been forced to confront more serious inconveniences, which he describes with few words.

"When I was young, I stayed at home because of my height, and I did not play with others as they were small and I was tall," he said.

And he is still single.

However Zhao's reluctant rise to fame could have a silver lining if he seeks official status with the Guinness Book of Records as the world's tallest man.

The current holder of the title - 2.36-metre herdsman Bao Xishun from the steppes of Inner Mongolia, launched a highly public search for a bride three years ago.

After a lifetime as a bachelor, Bao, aged in his 50s, heard back from more than 20 interested women and married one of them, who was half his height, after a courtship of just one month in 2007.

Microsoft to give away free Windows 7 for a year

On May 5th, general users will have access to an entire year of Microsoft's brand new operating system, Windows 7, for free! It is already available to download for MSDN and TechNet subscribers. This version is only the Release Candidate and will expire June 1, 2010. The Release Candidate is merely the near finished product and is basically the final stage in testing. It's supposed to have all the features of the final version. We don't know when the final version will be released but rumors say it'll be either late 2009 or early 2010.

A beta version of Windows 7 was released some time ago, and from using it for a short time, I can gather that it was much faster and more friendly than Windows Vista. Indeed for those of you who hated Vista, Windows 7 is Vista done right. Windows 7 boasts a lot of new features including a new taskbar, libraries, jump lists, etc. Windows 7 will also come packaged with the newest Internet Explorer (IE8).

The biggest improvement with Windows 7 is the performance. It will no longer take 5-10 minutes to boot up your machine. Windows 7 now has a much faster startup time, beating out both Vista and XP. We will also see a new feature called Windows XP mode which lets you run native XP programs on your machine.

People are saying good things about this Windows. Microsoft hopes it will make up for all the bad things about its previous version. I've heard news about IT developers leap-frogging Vista and going straight to 7 in their companies. Personally I didn't mind Vista all that much (except when it first came out). Vista now is much more supported than it was when it was released. Once you figure out how to use it, its not that bad (of course, that's fail on Microsoft for making me waste a lot of time learning it in the first place). Either way I'm excited to make the change to Windows 7 and will definitely be there to help crash Microsoft's website on May 5th

During Apple's MP3 player development, Steve Jobs spoke of Apple's strategy: the Mac as a hub to other gadgets. Vinnie Chieco, a freelance copywriter Apple hired to help name the gadget before its debut in 2001, fixed on that idea, according to Wired. He brainstormed hubs of all kinds, eventually coming to the concept of a spaceship. You could leave it, but you'd have to return to refuel. The stark plastic front of the prototype inspired the final connection: pod, a la 2001. Add an "i" and the connection to the iMac was complete.

BlackBerry: Sweet Addictiveness

Canada's Research in Motion called on Lexicon Branding to help name its new wireless e-mail device in 2001. The consultancy pushed RIM founders away from the word "e-mail," which research shows can raise blood pressure. Firefox: Second Time's a Charm

Choosing a name that evokes a product's essence and is available can be quite complicated, as the Mozilla folks found out. The early version of Mozilla's browser was called Firebird, but due to another open-source project with the same name, the Mozilla elders renamed their browser Firefox, which is another name for red panda. Why? "It's easy to remember. It sounds good. It's unique. We like it," they said. Best of all? Nobody else was using it.

1. It was named after red, which in Western history is "the symbol of liberation and challenge of authority." 2. Cofounder Marc Ewing wore his grandfather's red Cornell lacrosse hat in college and became known for this tech expertise—those with problems went to see the guy in the red hat. 3.
